History of the Agency

The agency dates back to 1928 when it began as Cubbedge-Walpole Company, Inc., founded by Cooper Cubbedge and Francis Walpole. In 1933, Gerald E. Ludwig, Sr. and Charles Walpole started Ludwig-Walpole Company, Inc., after Cooper Cubbedge moved to Jacksonville and Francis Walpole went into the pharmacy business in Sarasota. Ludwig-Walpole continued the philosophy of offering personal, professional service. Since then, we have grown into an agency with a staff of 15 insurance specialists serving individuals, families, and businesses in Sarasota, Longboat Key, Manatee, and surrounding counties. In 2001, the City of Sarasota honored Ludwig-Walpole with a Mayor's Citation for service and commitment to the Sarasota area. Our agency strives to provide the best service and the most comprehensive insurance products. We currently have markets in the Sarasota, Bradenton, Longboat Key, and surrounding areas.
